A Real Bargain

A Real Bargain

We went to a yard sale the other day

And bought some chickens in hopes they’d lay.
We built a coop and built it high
And put up branches so they could fly
Up to roost and have a place
Where they could feel warm and safe.
We built some boxes and filled them with hay
So maybe we’d get some eggs some day.
We bought some feed and fed them well,
But would they lay?,

We couldn’t tell.
Well guess what happened?

 Some chickens did lay

We begen getting eight eggs every day
And guess what else? –

And this is no joker –
One even layed a double yoker.

Thoughts

Thoughts

You were in my dreams again
I saw your face there last night
But you’re always in my thoughts
Even in day light
Your crystal eyes so deep and dark
Could never break apart
Your smile so warm, without a doubt
Could melt the coldest heart
And although you never speak
You face says all I need to know
I hate it when the morning comes
Because then you have to go
And though you not always around
I’ll always remember you
Forever you are within my thoughts
I know I’ll love you true
