Life’s Lie

We move through our transient lives, becoming lost in the
today, ignoring the tomorrow, reliving our past.
As if it won’t all end.
Isn’t that the lie we tell ourselves from the
start? How we make it a truth, buying things, filling our
homes, making money matter.
Losing our purpose–connection.
Isn’t that really the mission? We divide and separate
ourselves, many religions, distant neighborhoods, diverse
cultures.
We pretend to care, but we keep creating space between.
Isn’t there always a “they” for our “we?” We pay more
attention to the differences, a distraction, a diversion, a
disconnection. As if we are so special. Aren’t these all
ways to ignore the simple truth?
We are alike, we feel, we die.
